Jamaica's Ministry of Tourism and its agencies are on a mission to enhance and transform Jamaica’s tourism product while ensuring that the benefits which flow from the tourism sector are increased for all Jamaicans. To this end, the Ministry of Tourism has implemented policies and strategies that will provide further momentum for tourism as the engine of growth for the Jamaican economy. They remain committed to ensuring that the tourism sector makes the fullest contribution possible to Jamaica’s economic development, given its tremendous earning potential.


Tourism Product Development Company TPDCo, is the central agency mandated by the Government of Jamaica to facilitate the maintenance, development, and enhancement of the tourism product. The organization contributes to a diverse, enhanced tourism product and visitor experience, resulting in an improved quality of life for all Jamaicans. The organization facilitates the diversification, development, and improvement of the tourism product utilizing an experienced and qualified staff to enhance the visitor experience by building consensus and strategic alliances with industry stakeholders in order to engender socio-economic growth.


The Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) mobilizes resources and channels these to community-based socio-economic infrastructure and social services projects. Through a national partnership between central and local government, communities and private and public organizations, the JSIF addresses the immediate demands of communities in a manner that is quick, efficient, effective, transparent and non-partisan. Since 2010, JSIF has worked with the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) and the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) to assist community tourism enterprises through the World Bank REDI Project


Jamaica Tourist Board, JTB is charged with a mission of marketing the tourism product so that Jamaica remains the premier Caribbean tourism destination. To this end, JTB is positioning Jamaica as the most complete, unique and diverse warm weather destination in the world, which offers the best vacation value available. The organization markets the uniqueness of destination Jamaica through creative programs and advertisements worldwide. Throughout the years, the JTB has been recognized for its exceptional leadership and outstanding service with accolades from industry and trade partners both regionally and internationally.


The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. The Bank is made up of two unique development institutions owned by 184 member countries—the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA). Each institution plays a different but supportive role in the World Bank's mission of global poverty reduction and the improvement of living standards. They provide low-interest loans, interest-free credit and grants to developing countries for education, health, infrastructure, communications, and many other purposes.
